"Aleko" Hut (1840m. altitude) is located in the Vitosha mountain, above Sofia, in the base of Cherni Vruh (2 290m). It is the second oldest hut in Bulgaria. It was initially constructed in 1924-1932. It was built thanks to the labor and support of many tourists and skiers - enthusiastic followers of Aleko Konstantinov - the forefather of tourism in Bulgaria. Owned by the Bulgarian Tourism Association and maintained by Sports-tourism association "Moten". Today, the hut is a massive three-story building with granite ground and first floors. There are 110 beds in rooms of 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 10 beds, and three apartments.

Ski and snowboard wardrobes are located on the ground floor - offering 500 pairs of skis and 100 snowboards, as well as areas for equipping the skiing and snowboard schools. Located on the first floor are the kitchen, restaurant, self-service cafeteria (150 seats), and tea-bar. There is WI-FI internet access provided at the restaurant level of the hut.

All rooms are located on the second and third floors. There are common bathrooms, sinks and showers on each floor. A 5-shower bathroom built in 2007 is located on the ground floor.

"Aleko" Hut is only 21 kilometers or about 40 minutes by car from downtown Sofia.

Moten

moten

"Moten" Mountain Base

 "Moten" Mountain base is located next to "Aleko" hut on Vitosha, on the path leading to the "Vitoshko lale" ski slope, in the pine forest 150 meters to the right. The building, completely renovated in the summer of 2002, has a two-story restaurant for about 50 people, a day bar, fireplaces, as well as 12 beds (in 3 double and 2 triple rooms). The ground floor has the ski wardrobe and ski school equipping area.

Restaurant and tea serving
The two cosy areas set up in a traditional mountain style, with their fireplaces and delicious cooking, are bound to appeal to every visitor. The eating places are open every day from 9:00am until 12:00pm.   

Green School

The Green School is a five-day organized holiday for children in three age groups:

  • from 3 to 7 years old
  • from 8 to 12 years old
  • from 13 to 16 years old
  • At the "Moten" mountain base and Aleko hut
